Recording Samples and Cross References

During an asbestos survey, you may suspect some materials as being asbestos-containing.

In these cases, you may take some physical samples to send to a laboratory for testing. The Flow Mobile Surveying app allows you to record these as samples or cross-references.

Samples

Select 'Sample' if you're taking a new physical sample and bagging it up for lab analysis.

Cross Reference

Select 'Cross-reference' if you want to reference an existing sample from elsewhere in the building, rather than taking a new physical sample. Surveyors often refer to this as “visually identical”. Cross references will be rendered on the report as "strongly presumed" which is in line with the HSG 264 standard.
